Rebecca Malope is a South African gospel singer who rose to international stardom in the late '90s. Malope was born on a tobacco farm in South Africa. As a child, she and her sisters sang hymns in a local church. She joined a gospel group in her teens, which led her to Johannesburg. She eventually was brought to the attention of producer Zizwe Zakho, who had Malope record a large variety of material, from disco and pop to love ballads and gospel. Her records became popular in South Africa and soon she recorded an entire album of gospel songs, to satiate the desire of both herself and her fans. The gospel record was so wellreceived; she decided to devote her career to South African gospel.

Kwa sababu mtu ukitegemea muziki tu inakuwa kama unabahatisha, lakiniikiwa unaenda na sehemu nyingine, labda kama unabiashara inakuwa inasaidiakatika kusukuma huduma yako, na pia unakuta wengi wanaanza alafu kuna sehemunyingine anakwama, unakuta alikuwa anategemea muzika basi unakuta maisha yakeyanaishia hapo na ndoto zake zinaishia hapo. Sharti hilolilikuwa gumu kwake kwa sababu walikuwa wanalala kitanda kimoja kama mume namke lakini pamoja na hayo hali ilionekana kuwa mbaya kabla ya umauti kumchukua.Baada ya kufariki mume, ndunguze mumewe walisema kuwa yeye ndiye aliyemuualicha ya kujitahidi kumuuguza kwa kipindi chote cha uhai wake.
Maneno hayo ya kusingiziwa kuwaamemuua mumewe yalimuumiza moyo huku akiangalia maisha ya ujane yanayomkabiliakiwa na watoto hao wawili ambao hakujua watakula nini wala watasoma vipi. Halihiyo ilimfanya Upendo kuwa mtu wa majonzi muda wote huku akiwaangalia watotowake ambao walikuwa wakimwangalia yeye kwa kila kitu.
