Should always be done for mod compatibility, unless you want to use something obscure and know what you're doing.Official game updates do not happen very frequently, so do not worry about that.# Memory Patch & Orca Mod #the file from the first url and install all files BUT 'Custom.000.B01.txx' from the 'Orca's mod with memory patch' folder. Then grab the file from the second url and put it into the Archive/2.114.001 directory of your game installation (where all other.txx files are).The memory patch allows the game to use more RAM, which makes it crash less (especially if you're using a mod-heavy installation or stuff like 4x textures).

Orca's mod adds some new sliders and options to the pose editor, and is required for a lot of custom poses.There are some compatibility issues with other mods if not taken care of, but pretty much all mods which this applies to offer Orca-compatible versions.# ActiveMod Plus #mods to edit more textures (i.e. Does not conflict with anything, so no reason to not grab this.# Orgasm Mod #more options and shortkeys to the game, in particular triggering orgasms in Pose Edit mode and a 'floating' customizer window.#### 2. ESSENTIALS ####Stuff that adds new features and does not cause any major conflicts.# JSGME Mod Manager #simple mod manager. Makes installing a lot of (new) mods a bit easier. Probably won't work with pretty much all older mods and some newer mods as well. Personally I prefer the manual method, but a lot of people use this.# R9 Add-on Scripts #provides a framework for add-on mods (basically mods that add completely new items instead of just replacing meshes or textures that are already there).This is being updated VERY often, so make sure to grab the latest version from that thread (normally can be found in the latest post).
It is also required for some of the best mods and, in particular, pretty much any decent hair mod out there.# HairSizer Mod #a ton of new customizer stuff and options to the game, such as hair sizing independent from item sizing, actual eyeball scaling, and much more. Has some small issues with Orca's mod (in particular, the cum liquid becomes a huge brown turd), but those are few and far between.Make sure to delete 'Custom.000.B01.txx' if you are using this AND Orca.# Extreme Scaling Mod #HairSizer Mod with a couple of more features that allow advanced scaling of body parts. There is also a newer, experimental version than the one linked above in the same thread, but it replaces old sliders for its scaling options.Make sure to delete 'Custom.000.B01.txx' if you are using this AND Orca.

Either install this or the HairSizer Mod, both are redundant and will cause errors.# Liquid Replacer Mod #mod modifies some of the liquids added by Orca's mod.The archive contains everything you need, so remove your previous Orca's Mod installation (in particular, make sure to delete 'Custom.000.B01.txx').NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE MOST RECENT HAIRSIZER OR EXTREME SCALING MOD. Both edit the animation core files, which causes conflicts.#### 3.1. GRAPHICS - HOOKS AND RELATED ####Hooks are pretty much what makes this game worth anything visually. Just look at some TK17 screenshots in the thread and compare them to your base installation - 90% of that difference is through hooks.Now, which hook you should get, and even if you can get any hook running at all, depends on your machine.
While the game itself can easily run on a toaster, the new hook versions will not work on shitty computers.This section will only cover stuff that assumes your machine can at least run hook 3 or onwards (and thus your game can use bumpmaps). If your machine is too shitty for that, check out the 'TOASTER TOOLS' section.# HOOK 4 - Core files #your computer can run it, then get this version. Adds tons of graphic improvements, in particular bumpmaps, proper shadows and since recently even loading custom models into the game.To make this work, you need to pick 'DirectX' graphics in the game settings.
I also recommend running the game.exe manually from the 'Binaries' folder instead of the launcher. If you have problems, check ModsGarden for support or try a previous hook version.You can change settings (such as model outline, wetness, bloom.) in the 'main.fx' file. Be warned that Hook 4 is still in development, so most presets found on ModsGarden will NOT work with the most recent version without modifying them first.# HOOK 4 - Disco Shaders #the default Hook 4 shaders, especially for cum and hair.This mod also requires the Nriched Cum mod (overwrite its files by the Disco files when promted) and should be used with shoxx' hair shader texture set (for both mods see below).# HOOK 4 - Room Level Definition Files #Hook4 adds some nice lightning options, for which level definitions are required for each room which is supposed to use that feature.

Just grab what you want.# HOOK 3 - Core files #use this if your machine is too shitty for Hook 4 or you encounter any other strange problems with it which for some reason are not in place with Hook 3.There is a bunch of presets in the ModsGarden thread, make sure to check it out.If you get black cumshots for some reason, try installing this:HOOK 3 - Hair Shaders #hair shaders for hook 3. The premade shaders modify a bunch of addon hairs, and unless you use some addon hairs (which you should), there is no point in getting this.
For the hook 4 version, get Disco Shaders.You also might want to check out this:GENERAL - GEMFX #improves graphics even more, by implementing some better shaders and SweetFX.# GENERAL - SweetFX #your computer is too shitty for GEMFX or you have other reasons to avoid it but still want to improve the looks of your game, you might want to try this.# BUMPMAPS - Nriched Cum #bumpmaps to cum textures, which turns it from white paint to something much better. For hook 4, make sure to also grab Disco Shaders in addition to this.This mod requires ActiveMod Plus, which you should have installed anyway if you follow this guide.# BUMPMAPS - Fabrics #useful if you know a bit about mods, those are some general bumpmaps for clothing and fabrics. They will not automatically add bumpmaps to any of your clothing, but can be added to individual mods.# BUMPMAPS - Eye specular #a neat bumpmap to the eyeball of models. Probably less useful if used with Disco shaders and mainly of interest to Hook 3 users.# BUMPMAPS - Eye Iris specular #for default eye irises. Mainly of interest if you are not using 4x textures.# BUMPMAPS - Less shiny teeth #a bumpmap to the teeth to make them more realistic and less shiny. Probably less useful if used with Disco shaders and mainly of interest to Hook 3 users.# BUMPMAPS - Skin bumpmaps #As for bumpmaps for skin, face., it depends on taste. There are plenty of bumpmaps in the corresponding ModsGarden thread.
