Windows 10 Mail Import

 admin

I just got a new computer with Windows 10. On my old computer all my emails which were opened in Windows Live Mail were moved from the mail server and put into files on my desktop. I've figured out how to save the old mail to my new computer in a long list of.eml files, and my contacts were saved as a.csv file.

Import Contacts To Windows 10 Mail App. In this article, I will tell you how you can Import all your contacts into Windows Mail App without any trouble. Lots of computer users upgraded their PC to Windows 10 and in it when they try to send a mail via Windows 10 Mail App they can’t find any contact because you have to import your contacts to.

Mailbox

But I can't figure out how to move these into my Windows Mail old email and contacts folders. I just spent almost an hour searching the internet and can't find any solution. (Maybe I don't know where to look.) I've got Mail working for me; I can receive emails but don't have any of my contacts there anymore to send anything to. Can anyone help?

I hesitate to have to ask Microsoft. CameraCarl wrote:I just got a new computer with Windows 10. The simplest thing is to get an outlook.com account. Then you need an email application. Windows LIve Mail and Windows 10 Mail are just toys. I recommend getting an Office 365 subscription which will give you access to Outlook 2016. There should be an Import function somewhere inside the new Windows Mail app.I would also look at Mailbird. There's a trial version that stays free and fully functional if you choose not to upgrade to Premium.Another option is Postbox, but I like Mailbird quite a bit. You could download and try importing your old emails and contacts as a test. I would work with a copy of them.Thunderbird is a third (free) option. In fact, I've never tried an email program that didn't ask me to Import older mail upon first booting it.Good luck.

When you have the email client installed and the email folders set up as you wish in there just drag and drop the eml files from File Explorer into a folder in the email client. The email should then be imported. Your new email client will also be able to import your contacts from your csv file.Windows 10 Mail is very basic and doesn't have a lot of functionality besides the minimum of being able to send/receive email and sync with a mail server. What I am asking is what I do with all the emails that are stored as Windows Live Mail now that MS in all its wisdom has decided to eliminate it and not replace it with anything compatible.

And I am sure as he11 not going to buy into a Microsoft Office subscription just to get my old emails back. It's been years since I've used W.L.M. But I can't believe there isn't an export function for at least the contacts! There is an export function in Windows Live Mail but there is no import function in Windows 10 Mail. Windows 10 Mail Import Contacts Csv

I managed to get the email files from the bad drive and restore them to another computer with Windows Live Mail. They were using pop3 for some unknown reason when their provider had imap available.Once the email was restored I exported it and then set up an imap account and imported the email. They had over 4GB of saved email.Once it was imported back into Live Mail it synced with their email provider's server. On thew new computer with Windows 10 I installed the Thunderbird email client. Set up their email account and then it synced with their email provider.I convinced them to use either their providers webmail or Thunderbird so everything would stay in sync.Unfortunately contacts had to be imported to each email client and there is no way to keep those in sync. There are ways but they can barely handle their email so I was not going to even try to teach them something new.Windows 10 mail is useless, in my opinion, you shouldn't even try to figure it out.
